What is my why?

Why did I decide, at the ripe age of 49, to get into this world of blogging/content creation and plus size modeling? This is usually the time in life that a lot of women actually wind down and start to plan retirement and a life after work, not plan for more work. Who would be crazy enough to start another career now?? Me, that’s who!

The pandemic took away a lot from my usual crazy life, as it did from everyone. For the past year, there have been no flights, no concerts, and no happy hours with my girls to look forward to. At first, I was deeply saddened to have to give up life as I knew it, but the pandemic gave me the time to sit still and truly realize all of my blessings that I still have. The stillness gave me clarity and some sense of purpose. Although many of the activities that I was used to enjoying came to a halt, I still had my health, my family, and my job.

In my stillness, I was able to reflect on what I was passionate about in life. I have always had a passion for empowering women. This is ironic, because I have not always been the most confident person. After all of these years on earth, I have finally grown to a place where I am able to navigate the world without dictation by society of how I should look, dress, or live. I have not perfected this mindset yet, but I am getting pretty darn good at it. Because of that, I would love to be that inspiration to women to learn to live their lives their way, not dictated by age, size, or socioeconomic class. This is what I hope to achieve with my presence in this space. This is my why.

Have you ever actually taken the time to sit down and really think about what is your why? Leave a “Yes” or a thumbs up emoji in the comments if you have. Please be assured that it is ok if you have not taken the time to sit and think about it. Perhaps you can make the time in the next month or two to do so. Remember, it is never too late to take the first step!

I hope that you will join me in this blog journey! Until the next post, be well my friends and remember to always be true to yourself!
